Terms of Service
Effective Date: April 1, 2025
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at proliftgaragedoorservice.com and your engagement of garage door installation, repair, and related services provided by Prolift Garage Doors ("Prolift," "we," "us," or "our"), a locally owned and operated business serving San Diego County, California.
By using our website, requesting a quote, or entering into a service agreement with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a contact or estimate request form on our website, scheduling an appointment, or authorizing Prolift Garage Doors to perform work at your property, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Prolift Garage Doors.
If you are requesting service on behalf of a business, organization, or property owner, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Service Area
Prolift Garage Doors provides garage door installation, repair, and maintenance services throughout San Diego County, California. Our service area includes, but is not limited to:
- Central San Diego, La Jolla, Point Loma, and Coronado
- East County — El Cajon, Santee, Lakeside, and surrounding communities
- South Bay — Chula Vista, National City, and nearby areas
- North County — Escondido, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, and surrounding communities
- Mission Valley, Kearny Mesa, and Central San Diego neighborhoods
Service availability outside these areas may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to confirm availability at your location before scheduling.
3. Free Estimates
We offer free, no-obligation on-site estimates for all residential and commercial garage door projects. An estimate is not a contract and does not commit either party to proceed with any work. Estimates are based on the information available at the time of the site visit and are subject to change if the scope of work differs from what was originally described.
Written estimates are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Price changes due to material cost fluctuations or changes in the scope of work will be communicated to the customer before work begins.
4. Payment Terms
Unless a separate written payment arrangement has been agreed upon in advance, full payment is due upon completion of work. We accept payment by cash, check, and major credit cards. Any additional charges arising from unforeseen complications discovered during the work will be communicated to you before proceeding and must be approved in writing or verbally before those additional services are performed.
For large custom or commercial projects, we may require a deposit of up to 50% of the total quoted amount before ordering materials or scheduling installation. Deposit terms will be stated clearly in the written quote.
Invoices not paid at the time of service completion are subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance. Prolift Garage Doors reserves the right to pursue collection of unpaid amounts through appropriate legal means.
5. Workmanship Warranty
We stand behind our work. The following workmanship warranties apply to services performed by Prolift Garage Doors:
- New door installations: 5-year workmanship warranty from the date of installation. If any defect in our installation workmanship causes a functional issue with your door during this period, we will repair it at no charge.
- Repair services: 90-day workmanship warranty from the date of the repair. If the same issue recurs within 90 days due to our workmanship, we will correct it at no additional labor charge.
These warranties cover workmanship only — they do not cover manufacturer defects in parts or materials (which are subject to the applicable manufacturer's warranty), damage caused by misuse, accidents, weather events, normal wear and tear, or modifications made by others after our service.
To make a warranty claim, contact us at hello@proliftgaragedoorservice.com or call (619) 604-5869. We will schedule an inspection and, if the issue falls within the warranty, perform the necessary correction promptly and at no cost to you.
6. Product Availability
We carry and install all major garage door and opener brands, including Clopay, Amarr, CHI, LiftMaster, and others. While we make every effort to source the specific product, color, style, or model you request, we cannot guarantee that any particular product will be available at the time of your project.
Supply chain conditions, manufacturer production schedules, and distributor inventory are outside our control. If your first-choice product is unavailable, we will promptly notify you and present comparable alternatives at similar price points. Work will not proceed without your approval of any substituted product.
7. Scheduling & Appointments
Appointments are confirmed by telephone or email. We make every effort to arrive within the agreed-upon window. In rare circumstances, delays due to traffic, weather, or a prior job running long may occur — we will notify you as promptly as possible if your appointment time needs to be adjusted.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may result in a trip charge for jobs requiring material pre-ordering or significant travel.
8. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure we can complete your service safely and efficiently, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the property, the existing door, and the scope of work needed
- Ensure that the work area is reasonably clear and accessible at the time of the appointment
- Ensure that a responsible adult (18 years or older) is present at the property during the service visit
- Notify us in advance of any known hazards at the property, including electrical issues, structural concerns, or other conditions that may affect safe access
- Obtain any required permits from local authorities if applicable to your project (we can advise on permit requirements)
Failure to provide reasonable site access or to disclose known hazards may result in rescheduling or additional charges.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Prolift Garage Doors' total liability for any claim arising out of or related to our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
In no event shall Prolift Garage Doors be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, loss of use, or damage to property not directly caused by our negligence, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
We are not liable for damage to property that was pre-existing, undisclosed, or caused by factors outside our control, including but not limited to structural deficiencies in the garage opening, deteriorated framing, or inadequate electrical supply.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for personal injury or death resulting from our negligence, or for any other matter that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10. Disputes & Governing Law
These Terms of Service and any disputes arising out of or related to our services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
We encourage you to contact us directly to resolve any concern before pursuing formal proceedings. Most issues can be resolved quickly and amicably with a simple phone call or email.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in San Diego County, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction in San Diego County to prevent irreparable harm. Both parties waive their right to a jury trial.
Any claims must be brought within one (1) year of the date the claim arises, except where California law requires a longer period.
